A Meaningful Way to Honour and Remember...
Bespoke Memorial Ashes Jewellery
Some loves never leave us. If you are looking for a gentle and meaningful way to keep someone close, I create bespoke memorial jewellery incorporating ashes, handcrafted with care in recycled silver. Below, I share how the process works, so you can move forward feeling reassured, supported and gently held in your decision.
How Memorial Ashes Are Held Within Your Jewellery
Your loved one’s ashes are carefully and respectfully incorporated into solid sterling silver, becoming a permanent part of the piece itself.
Rather than being stored in a compartment, the ashes are fused within the precious metal, creating something strong, enduring and lasting. They are then set safely behind a gemstone of your choosing. This keeps them protected, while allowing the front of the piece to feel like a beautiful, wearable treasure rather than something defined by loss.
For many, the gemstone holds its own quiet meaning. It may be a birthstone, a favourite colour, or simply a stone that feels right.
Some choose a more visible tribute, such as an open detail to the back of a pendant, like the paw design I once created, so that a beloved pet could still leave their mark. Others prefer everything to be completely private. There is no right or wrong, only what feels comforting to you.

The Bespoke Process
The process begins in the same way as all of my bespoke work. You reach out, and we begin with a conversation.
We will talk through the type of jewellery you would like, whether that is a necklace, a ring or another design. We will explore gemstone options and any personal details that feel important. This part is gentle and unhurried. There is no pressure, only space to create something meaningful together.

When you feel ready, you will send a small amount of ashes to me. Only a very small quantity is needed, around a quarter of a teaspoon. I recommend placing them in a small secure container, then sealing that inside a plastic bag before boxing and sending via a tracked postal service. Some clients choose to double-bag for extra peace of mind.
As soon as they arrive, they are handled with care and respect at every stage.
Creating Your Piece
Once everything is here, I begin crafting your jewellery by hand in recycled sterling silver or gold. Each piece is made individually, with time, attention and intention.
When your jewellery is complete, it is carefully packaged and returned to you, along with any unused ashes.
Nothing is rushed. Nothing is treated as routine.
This is a deeply personal commission, and it is approached with the care it deserves.

While Your Loved One Is In My Care
I understand that sending ashes through the post can feel like the hardest part of the process.
From the moment they arrive with me, they are handled with the utmost respect and care. They are stored securely, clearly labelled, and kept separate at all times. Only the small amount needed for your piece is used, and any remaining ashes are carefully returned to you with your finished jewellery.
If there is anything personal you would like included in the making of your piece, perhaps a particular song played while I work, a meaningful date acknowledged, or a small ritual that feels comforting to you, you are always welcome to share that with me. This is your story, and it deserves to be honoured in a way that feels right.
Your loved one is never treated as an order or a task. This work is approached with deep responsibility and care, and I hold that trust gently.
Frequently Asked Questions
How are the ashes kept safe within the jewellery?
The ashes are permanently incorporated within the precious metal itself and then set securely behind your chosen gemstone. They are not loose or stored in a chamber. Once completed, they become part of the structure of the piece, strong and protected for everyday wear.
What happens if my ring ever needs resizing?
If a ring requires resizing in the future, the gemstone setting, including the ashes held behind it, would first be carefully removed. The ring band would then be adjusted to the new size before the gemstone and inclusion are professionally reset back into place.
This ensures the memorial element remains protected and intact throughout the process.
If you find that your ring needs adjusting, please do get in touch. After an initial period of time, resizing work is chargeable due to the care and additional craftsmanship involved. I will always explain the process and associated cost clearly before any work is carried out, so you can make an informed decision.
If you are unsure about sizing at the time of commissioning, we can talk through the best way to achieve an accurate fit to help minimise the need for future adjustments.
How much ashes are needed?
Only a very small amount is required, around a quarter of a teaspoon. Any unused ashes are always returned to you with your finished piece.
How long does the process take?
As each piece is created individually and with care, turnaround times can vary. I will always give you a clear timeframe before you commit, so you know exactly what to expect.
When you feel ready, you are welcome to reach out. There is no expectation and no urgency, only a gentle conversation to explore what feels right for you. Creating memorial jewellery is a deeply personal decision, and it should always begin in your own time. I am here to guide you with care whenever that moment comes.
