My studio in the quiet of the evening

On slowing down, and choosing intention

There’s been a quiet shift happening in my studio.

Nothing dramatic. No big announcement. Just a growing sense that the way I’ve been working no longer feels quite right. Not wrong. Just ready to evolve.

For a long time, I thought intention had to be loud. That it showed up in big goals, plans, and productivity. Full order books. Constant making. Always moving forward.

But lately, intention has felt much softer than that.

It shows up in the moments I choose to pause instead of push. In letting a design sit for a few extra days. In trusting that not everything needs to be finished quickly to be valuable.

Seven years at the bench has changed the way I listen. I notice now when a piece asks for more time. When my hands slow down without me telling them to. When the best decisions come from waiting, not forcing.

This refocus isn’t about doing less for the sake of it. It’s about doing what feels honest.

Making jewellery that carries meaning rather than momentum. Creating pieces that feel considered, personal, and quietly confident. Allowing space for ideas to unfold naturally, even if that means fewer pieces and slower releases.

I know this way of working isn’t for everyone. But it’s the only way that feels true to me now.

And perhaps that’s the point.

Jewellery made with intention tends to find its way to the right people. The ones who value story over trend. Depth over speed. Pieces that become part of their everyday life, not just something they wear once.

This Journal will be a place where I share more of these thoughts. The in-between moments. The reflections that happen at the bench. The why behind the way I choose to work.

No pressure. Just honest snippets from my days, jotted down in the quiet of the evening.

I’m looking forward to seeing where this slower, more intentional path leads.
